Welcome to The Breaking Point!

From wildfires ravaging Australia, to the coronavirus pandemic, to the killings of Black lives, to widespread protests against police brutality and racial injustice, 2020 was — or is — a breaking point for many of us.

The Breaking Point is a weekly newsletter that draws on the historical legacies of injustice based on the current news cycle and culture trends to understand what in the world is going on.

I’m a journalist based in New York City. I mostly write about race and culture which include topics like environmental justice, immigration, Asian American diaspora, anti-blackness, the “model minority” myth, and the Pacific Islands. These things, as you can guess, will most likely show up in this newsletter.

I’ll also give you links to articles, music, TV shows, documentaries, and books I’m reading or anything that caught my eye that week.

Sign up & stay up-to-date. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.
